Purpose

Plans, organizes, delivers and evaluates patient care needs to deliver IV biologic therapy medication.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Administers IV biologic medications.
  2. Demonstrates solid knowledge of clinical skills needed for the clinical infusion area.
  3. Communicates/collaborates with infusion team members, providers, and other CFG employees to facilitate patient care.
  4. Communicates professionally with patient, family, and health care team.
  5. Maintains confidentiality of all information regarding patients, employees, clinic, and hospital records.
  6. Consistently charts patient care notes in an accurate and timely manner.
  7. Takes personal accountability for tasks and fosters teamwork.
  8. Responsible for calculating and accurately documenting the medication inventory counts on the medication log.
  9. Maintain adequate stock levels of care-related items without overstocking.
  10. Ensure all care-related equipment is maintained in a serviceable and cost-efficient manner and plans for replacement as needed.
  11. Demonstrated proficiency in patient cost support programs associated with biologic medications.

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current BLS/ACLS required
  • Current Colorado RN license
  • Experience:
  • Prefer three or more years of infusion nursing experience
  • IV certification
  • EMR system experience

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend, or sit for extended periods of time.

Physical demands:

  • Sitting 40% answering the telephone and working on the computer.
  • Walking/standing 60% assisting patients/ delivering information to other departments/ speaking with physicians.
  • Ability to speak clearly to be understood by patients and employees
  • Ability to hear within normal range. Able to hear patients in a busy, noisy environment.
  • Acuity near and far. Ability to see within normal parameters, and to
    distinguish colors.
  • Works in a well-lit heated/air-conditioned environment.
  • Work may involve exposure to communicable diseases, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
