Hourly Range: $18.75-$23.32 + $500 sign on bonus!

Position Purpose

We are looking for a Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) that has a can-do attitude, resiliency, and a desire to provide patient centered care. Essential Job Functions

  • Act as a liaison between our patients and the providers, our clinical team are considered “Care Coordinators”
  • Accurately enter patient data into our EMR and provide complete documentation of relevant information. Investigate patient histories as required and communicate all relevant information timely.
  • Assist providers by preparing charts for office visits and obtaining outside medical records. During office visits, perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vitals, recording medical histories, and answering patient questions.
  • Help educate patients to new diets, meds, and scheduled procedures.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all staff. We expect that our employees support each other and help everybody accomplish daily tasks, quarterly team goals, and organization goals.
  • Understand and adhere to all HIPAA regulations to maintain our patients’ privacy.
  • Requires regular, predictable attendance.
  • Flexibility is essential for success with CFG and on occasion, our employees may be asked to complete projects and tasks that could be outside of their normal scope of duties.

Required Competencies

  • Documentation and Information Recording—Possess excellent attention to detail as well as data entry skills. Accurate entry of patient information; and ability to investigate, ask follow-up questions, or track timelines to resolve issues that arise. Maintain confidential information.
  • Customer Service—Listen attentively; respond to questions appropriately and timely. Possess kind and pleasant demeanor as well as demonstrate patience over the phone. Ability to take direction as needed.
  • Time Management—Must be able to work under pressure and complete multiple projects or tasks according to established timeframes. Enjoy working in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. Demonstrate resourcefulness and creative problem-solving as needed.
  • Professionalism—Build solid working relationships and be support of co-workers; foster a friendly work environment, focused on providing patient access.
  • Demonstrated comfort with Windows-based computer systems.

CMA/RMA Job Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Assisting
  • Current Certified or Registered MA credential from a national organization (AMT,
  • NCCT, AAMA, etc.)
  • Current CPR/BLS

Preferred Qualifications for the CMA/RMA position are:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a clinic setting
  • An Associate’s in Medical Assisting
  • Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish
  • Epic EMR experience
  • Previous GI experience

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend, or sit for extended periods of time. Physical demands: percentage of time spent in each activity (estimate) Walking 20% – assisting patients, delivering information personally to other departments, collaborating with other department employees. Sitting 80% – entering data into the computer system; answering the telephone.
  • Number of pounds that must be lifted, carried, pushed or pulled: up to 20lbs.
  • Climbing on step ladders to reach top shelves, stooping, kneeling, crouching,
    reaching, fingering (like keyboarding, controls on a scanner, fax, etc.)
  • Ability to speak clearly to be understood by our patients and employees.
  • Ability to hear within normal range. Able to hear patients on the phone in a noisy
    desk environment.
  • Acuity near and far. Ability to see within normal parameters, and to distinguish
    colors.
  • Ability to work for extensive periods at computer keyboarding.
  • Works in a well-lit heated/air-conditioned environment. Temperatures between 68 and 74 degrees.
  • Work may involve exposure to communicable diseases, medicinal preparations
    and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

Computer, printer, multi-line telephone, headset, fax machine/e-fax, scanner, postage machine.
